If the pagination becomes too wide (probably due to many pages) the sticky nav breask, eg. does not stick where it should.
This might be a bit difficult to reproduce on xenForo.com as there are no threads with > 1000 pages (and Prev and Next are rather short in english), but it can easily be tested via development tools (see attached video).
