RSS Feed/News Service_worker.js Spam

Recently I've noticed a number of IP addresses on the forum that seem to have thousands of empty apache access log entries for the service_worker.js file (usually every few seconds). Normally I'd expect to see service_worker.js called alongside forum page loads, but in this case there's just lots of service_worker.js entries with almost no associated page loads for any other content (maybe one proper forum page load in a sea of service_worker.js requests over several hours).
