I realize the trending content widget isn't meant to be latest content, but I think users see "old looking/odd looking" when the trending content widget shows (even legitimately) trending content where the last comment/reply/update was 15 years ago for example.
I think an option might be really useful here:
[x] limit trending to last reply within [365] days
An option to not display an item without a comment/reply within the last x-days even if it were trending based on views/reactions...
