RSS Feed/News How do I make a custom navtab active when a user visits the related content types?

I have added some custom navigation tabs in the navigation manager. Under each of the tabs I have grouped various addons.
For example I have a Community tab that holds Forum, Media, social groups, members, calendar. Community is the parent of these.
How do I make this tab active if the user is on a page from one of these content types?
