RSS Feed/News Hide Album Media From Media Home Page

My site uses the gallery to upload lots of funny pictures into different categories. It makes it cumbersome to use the media homepage and see a bunch of personal images that people are putting in albums. I'm not sure if I'm alone in this but it would really improve my gallery if this option was available.
