RSS Feed/News VS Code's PHP Intelephense not doing anything?

I have the PHP Intelephense extension installed for Visual Studio Code (Mac), but it doesn't seem to be working. I assume it should show me references above a function or when I right click the function name, but there's nothing. Right clicking in VS Code only has about 4 items. Isn't this extension supposed to add these features or does it need to be the premium version? I opened the entire XF folder in VS Code, but I also tried with a smaller one-file test project.
