What I have:
Small IPS site (10 members or so) running an older version of IPS Community Suite Nulled from the now defunct IV forums.
Site is hosted with: shinjiru
About a month or so ago I started having errors come up, so I contacted support at shinjiru and they tried a few things but ultimately came back with
"Kindly replace or update the script to fix this issues."
I tried to upgrade myself, I uploaded the 4.7.13 files via FTP. After uploading all files to the public directory I went to mysite.com/admin/upgrade but was met with a Server 500 Internal Error. At this point I couldn't even visit the site at all, so I used jetbackup5 in the cPanel to restore my Home Directory to an earlier date and that got back what I had.
Not sure why I couldn't upgrade, I've tried several times but I'm ready to pull my hair out lol.
Also I'm not against migrating away from IPS and moving to another xenforo as long as I don't lose anything.
So I need help as I'm not having any luck.
Willing to kick a little bit of funds to whoever can help me out.
