RSS Feed/News Add an Articles tab on the ribbon?

I'd like to ask about the best way to go about adding to the ribbon. Not sure if that's what it's called, but it's at the top where you'll find Members, Media, What's New, and Forums. On some other forums, I've seen other things there. Here's my questions:

1. I'd like to place a tab on the ribbon called "Mission" or "About us". It would have a single, static blog article written by me about the site. Is this possible?
